Humotech Launches New Coverage with Evidence Development Initiative with a Leading Regional Health Insurer to Expand Access to Prosthetic Foot Options
PITTSBURGH, PA — September 3, 2026 — Humotech announced today the launch of a new coverage with evidence development initiative in collaboration with a leading regional health insurer, marking a major milestone in expanding access to the Company’s innovative Prosthetic Foot Trialing Service for eligible people with lower limb loss.
The initiative is designed to support the collection of real-world clinical evidence while providing patients with access to this emerging healthcare technology. Through this initiative, Humotech and the leading regional health insurer will evaluate how data-driven prosthetic component selection can improve patient outcomes, inform clinical decision-making, and support value-based care with benefits for patients, providers, and payors alike.
This new clinical service is powered by Humotech’s Clinical Caplex® System, an advanced platform designed to emulate, or mimic, different prosthetic foot options and support prosthetic foot selection through outcomes data collection at the point of care. The initiative is expected to support patients through participating prosthetic providers located across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The launch represents a significant step in translating technology and clinical methodologies originally developed at Carnegie Mellon University, licensed to Humotech, and rigorously evaluated through a collaborative clinical research program with the Defense Health Agency and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
