Carl Gordulic

Carl is a financial executive with more than 20 years of experience leading finance functions through periods of rapid growth, acquisition, and change. As Partner and CFO of EdgeCity Advisory, he brings C-suite, M&A, and technology-enabled advisory expertise to founders, boards, and investors across the healthcare, manufacturing, and technology services sectors. Over the course of his career, Carl has participated in or led M&A transactions totaling more than $500 million, and he approaches every engagement with the entrepreneurial mindset of someone who has built and sold businesses himself, not just advised on them.

Philosophy and Approach

Carl has spoken about the importance of financial leaders understanding the day-to-day realities of the businesses they serve, not just the numbers. Early in his career he sat in on product and customer launch meetings even though he had no technical expertise to offer, simply to understand the challenges his operating teams faced. That grounding, he has said, continues to shape how he works with management teams today: staying close enough to operations to know where the real opportunities and constraints are, rather than operating purely from behind a spreadsheet.

He also brings a steady, long-view temperament to dealmaking. Having lived through deals that closed in record time and others that fell apart at the last minute, including a transaction that quietly expired one New Year's Eve, Carl treats each phase of a transaction with the same measured discipline: thorough due diligence, clear-eyed expectations, and the composure not to get too high or too low as a deal moves toward the finish line.

Education

Carl holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Accounting, both from Youngstown State University.
