Prakhar Kiran
Wearable Robotics Engineer - Intern
Prakhar Kiran is a rising senior at the North Allegheny School District, and has career aspirations in engineering. He has been involved in competitive robotics since elementary school and is currently a senior member of the community-based robotics team BrainSTEM, participating in both FIRST tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics competition (FRC).
Prakhar is an FTC Dean’s List Semi-Finalist for the 2024-2025 robotics season, the lead driver of the robot for his four people FTC team of high schoolers and among the lead designers. Prakhar’s team was a finalist at the FTC PA State Championship, and at the end of the season they ranked among the top 50 teams worldwide out of 7000 teams.
Through Robotics, Prakhar has learnt multiple skills applicable to many aspects of engineering, evolved his leadership and teamwork, as well as enhanced his ability for problem solving and managing through adversities.

Outside of STEM, Prakhar enjoys music and has been trained in both Western classical piano and Indian classical vocal forms. He is an award-winning young classical piano artist, having performed at venues like Carnegie Hall, New York; Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh; and Mozarthaus in Vienna, Austria, as well as being interviewed at the local youth SLB radio show.
